Marmox board is an economic lightweight substrate. The boards are made of waterproof extruded polystyrene, faces with a fibreglass mesh embedded into a cement polymer on each side, which adds extra strength and rigidity. It is extremely light, tough, and can be cut with a sharp knife into any shape (though it will tend to blunt the blade on your craft knife).  No power tools are needed.  It will not warp and is waterproof and suitable for outdoor use if the exposed foam edges are protected, either by a frame or a coat of cement or cement-based adhesive.  In the building industry it is used as an underlay for tiling applications in wet areas such as bathrooms.

We are currently supplying 1cm thick Marmox board in three sizes: 30 x 30 cms, 60 x 30 cms and 60 x 60 cms. Also available are the fixings for hanging the board, complete with instructions, which must be ordered separately. Each set of fixings comprises two each of washers, bolts, nuts and D-rings with which to hang a single board.  So if you are going to cut up your board don't forget to order more fixings!
